New Poll Confirms a Growing Interest in Historic Vehicles

A new poll carried out by Duckhams’ valued partners, The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) indicates that interest by the British public in historic cars, motorcycles commercial, vehicles and buses has grown since this audience were last polled in 2016. Then the survey indicated that just over 8 million people had an interest in historic vehicles, but this new survey shows that number has grown to nearly 10 million.

Record Breaking Price Achieved for Beatles Owned Mini at Auction

A custom-built Mini Cooper S from 1965 that was once owned by Paul McCartney of the Beatles, has sold for what is thought to be a world record breaking $235,500 (around £183,500) at a classic car auction in Illinois, USA. It is understood that the buyer intends to ship the car back to the UK where it can be enjoyed by Beatles fans on home turf once again.

Louise Cook takes on Rally Turkey!

Louise Cook runs with Duckhams stickers on her WRC Ford. She is FIA WRC Production Car Cup Champion 2012 and British Female Rally Champion 2011. At Duckhams, we are great followers of Louise Cook and enjoy her regular updates through these pages. Louise took the risk of driving all the way to Turkey not knowing if she would have the sponsorship to compete, but had to take the opportunity to gain more points after missing out on Rally Finland. The rally had offered a free entry to all competitors, normally near £4,000, so this allowed Louise to enter.

Classic and Vintage vehicles require markedly different lubricants than modern passenger cars, but don’t worry we will have the correct oil grade for your car, guaranteed.

If your classic has a full-flow oil filter fitted (i.e. a disposable cartridge or spin-on filter as with many post -1960 vehicles), then Duckhams Classic Q 20W-50 is the mineral oil choice for your car. Duckhams Classic Q20W-50 was the period manufacturer recommendation for the vast majority classic marques. If your classic car handbook specifies a 20W-50 grade, then Duckhams is the premium choice.Purchase Classic Q20w-5010w-40 being launched in April 2019.

Vintage vehicle applications.If your car has a strainer-type filter, predominantly found on older and pre-war vehicles, and has not had a full flow, cartridge or spin-on type filter retro-fitted, then your choice is Duckhams Classic SAE 40 (for summer) or SAE 30 for winter. These low detergent monogrades are also the choice for many classic air-cooled engines such as those found on VWs. Purchase Classic SAE30 or Classic SAE40
